Reflecting on the Design - #6
When working as a graphic designer, it is crucial that one reflects on the work they have done, the decisions they've made, and what they could improve. For this project, I had to step outside of my comfort zone to test out what I have learned in the DAT program and what areas are for improvement in my future career role. I think this cover is playful and simple enough for a non-designer to understand what it entails. In the four corners are different ink splotches meant to represent the colors C for Cyan, M for Magenta, Y for Yellow, and K for black. Any document that has ever been printed is a combination of these colors. The gray structure in the middle is meant to be the focal point of the entire page. I used a Macintosh desktop computer to represent the primary operating system I have used for my designs. I chose to add some flair to the cover by using a more retro video game like text to create some contrast and hopefully relate to some consumers. I think I could add additional features to the computer screen to make it more representative of an actual computer monitor instead of it looking like a projector screen. There are minor tweaks that I can make throughout my project to ensure people aren't swayed in the "wrong" direction when viewing different theories or imagery.
